With upgrading the compiler to VS2017 and adapting WINNT_WINVER to 0x602 the XP support accidently was removed. Currently I am trying to restore it. Well this basically worked, but in some use-cases LSE crashes under XP, which is normal durcng development. But, and now comes the point, one can hardly debug such situations under XP. Remote Debugger for vs2017 does not work, and analysis of dumps is cumbersome.
So I'll give it a try but one outcome could be to drop LSE XP support in the most recent versions. The command line tools work... at least at a first glance

On the other hand the good news is that the new progess bar now works in all use cases in my dev environment.

[Internal] Removed the Rockall fast heap. This was neccessary, but also a big performance gain. Memory allocation is 2 times faster, and memory deletion is 10 times faster. Memory allocation is crucial for the core of Dupemerge.

[Internal] Dropped Itanium configuration, since VS2017 does not support it anymore, and I am sure there is no Itanium hardware out in the wild anymore.

During SmartCopy/SmartMirror/DeloreanCopy the type (absolute/relative) of symbolic link relation is kept in the destination.

During SmartCopy/SmartMirror/DeloreanCopy the Compression Attribute is copied too.

The check for prerequisites during install is more accurate aka takes mfc80.dll into account.

During un-install it is also checked if the hardlinkshellext.dll is held by some process.

Fixed a problem during SmartMirror when a directory changed into a file or vice versa from one mirror to the next and had exactly the same name.

--timetolerance was introduced so that during --mirror and --delorean timestamp comparison is fuzzy.

Fixed a problem with --mirror when a directory changed into a file or vice versa from one mirror to the next and had exactly the same name.

When working on mapped network drives via SMB or CFIS, as many NAS boxes do, LSE uses a more traditional enumeration mode and this will copy files ( which it did not in any case ).

Multiple locations can be selected and the location are treated as a common root with respect to hardlinks/junctions/symbolic links.

Nested junctions and symbolic links ( aka junctions on junction on junctions ... ) are now properly restored in any situation.

Smartmove had problems with relative symbolic links in rare situations.

Introduced a traditional mode for SmartCopy, DeloreanCopy and SmartClone when used on network shared implementing SMBV10 (NAS boxes).

What is this? DeLorean Copy is a incremental way of creating backups using hardlinks very similar to Apples TimeMachine(tm). Read the LSE .html doku, you will find out.
The LSE beta phase lasts till November 14th 2010, so please provide me with feedback if possible.
